District Releases 2011 Statistics

The East Fishkill Fire District (EFFD) has released its 2011 activity statistics. "I wish to commend the dedicated members of this department on their efforts to serve their community and their neighbors. The residents of the Town of East Fishkill should be very proud of their fire department and the members that serve", states Chief Scott Post (39-1). During the 2011 year, we responded to 2,316 emergency calls, which is an increase of 96 from the previous year. Of these, 319 were located within the Wiccopee Fire Company (WFC) response territory. The average response time was slightly under 9 minutes. District and company personnel contributed a total of 62,243 hours in response, training, and other activities.

The East Fishkill Fire District provides fire and rescue services throughout a 54 square mile jurisdiction in Dutchess County, NY. The Wiccopee Fire Company, based out of two stations, is one of four fire companies which makes up the district.
