We're looking for dedicated individuals who want to become firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians or both!
Wiccopee is 100% volunteer, and we would like to keep it that way. However, we need your help. If you are at least 16 years of age and interested in helping your community, while at the same time gaining valuable knowledge and skills, stop by the station on any Monday evening (6:30PM-9:00PM).

Being a firefighter or EMT/CFR isn't easy. For starters, you need to be in excellent physical shape. In addition to training (WFC members attend and complete thousands of hours of training every year), you need to be on guard at all times of the day. For every thirty seconds a fire goes unchecked, it doubles in size. This thirty seconds could mean the difference between life or death for someone.

Contrary to popular belief, the fire department doesn't exclusively perform fire suppression. Modern departments are involved heavily in vehicle extrication, good-intent calls and ambulance operations.
Individuals may also join the Wiccopee Fire Company as a company (social) member only. While this prevents you from participating in emergency response activities on behalf of the East Fishkill Fire District, you may participate in company social activities. Please call the main station for more information.

If you are interested, stop by the main station on any Monday night from 6-9 pm. E-mail or call us for more information.
